Established in the early 1970s as a favor to a fellow colleague in the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Leather Specialties became the largest selection of leather hand guard accessories for wind instruments.

Leather Specialties products are made with high-quality Brazilian leather either hand-cut or stamped from our antique shoe die machine built in the 1890's. Each piece we make holds a little bit of history.

We have our principles and our #1 principle is keeping manufacturing within our American borders. A handful of our high-volume products are outsourced to American assembly companies. We simply refuse to have it any other way.

Every valve guard and grip we make is triple protecting the surface of the brass or silver instrument surface. Our products are the only guard accessory that actively reduces tarnish. No other competitor comes close to our level of protection.
